Cyient, a leading global engineering and technology solutions firm today announced the launch of its wholly owned subsidiary, Cyient Semiconductors. This strategic move reinforces Cyient’s 25+ years of expertise in delivering ASIC turnkey solutions for industrial, data center, automotive and medical applications. The company’s decision to establish the semiconductor subsidiary is in line with India’s national agenda under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, aiming to build a robust domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
Focused on semiconductor design and development, Cyient Semiconductors will scale its Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) turnkey solutions to meet rising market demands. The new entity will offer end-to-end integrated circuit and silicon solutions through Cyient’s established design capabilities and operational expertise. Importance will be placed on fabless semiconductor solution development ensuring that the subsidiary provides reliable and efficient services in the rapidly evolving semiconductor landscape.
The launch is further supported by the appointment of Suman Narayan as the CEO of Cyient Semiconductors. With a strong track record in managing semiconductor businesses and driving digital transformation, Narayan is expected to guide the subsidiary’s growth and strategic direction. Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director Krishna Bodanapu highlighted that the alignment of Cyient’s semiconductor capabilities with national objectives will boost India’s journey toward self-reliance and innovation in high-performance semiconductor solutions. The board has committed an investment of approximately $100 million (around Rs 860 crore) to support this initiative.
As the semiconductor market currently stands at an estimated $600 billion with projections reaching $2 trillion by 2032, Cyient Semiconductors is well-positioned to tap into this high-growth opportunity. The subsidiary’s global teams across India, the US, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Taiwan will work collaboratively to deliver effective ASIC turnkey and integrated circuit design services to a diverse customer base.
