Telangana and Queensland Collaborates for AI City and Educational Development

Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has formally invited the Queensland government to invest in the state’s proposed AI City near Hyderabad. A high-level delegation from Queensland led by Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Minister Rosslyn Mary Bates visited to explore opportunities for strategic collaboration. The visit marks an important step in strengthening ties between Telangana and Queensland.

During the meeting, Minister Babu provided an in-depth briefing on the upcoming Life Sciences University, envisioned as a global leader in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. With Telangana’s strong position in these industries, the proposal has attracted keen interest from the Queensland delegation. This initiative is expected to strengthen technological innovation and economic growth by attracting international investments and expertise.

Additional discussions included plans for the establishment of a dedicated Sports University and the ongoing development of the Skill University. The plan is designed to bridge the gap between workforce requirements and industry demands through innovative programs aligned with global market trends. Both sides expressed support for these educational initiatives, recognizing their role in building a skilled and competitive workforce.

Representatives from Queensland included Trade and Investment CEO Justin McGowan, Australian Consul General Hilary McGeachy, Consul Andrea Callister, Policy Research Associate Kritika Subramanian and Trade Commissioner Abhinav Bhatla. The discussions highlighted a mutual commitment to further exploring collaborative efforts in education, research and development and agriculture. Both parties agreed to continue collaboration to implement actionable strategies that will drive innovation and sustainable growth.
